And Happy Holidays!  Yup it's that time, if you hadn't already noticed the music and all the decorations. To help get you all into the joyful holiday spirit, here's our annual play on Clement C. Moore's Classic:

'Twas just weeks before Christmas and all through the houses,

the needles were clicking, even Ms. Mouse's.

The stockings, handknit, were hung up with care,

but more projects in process, just about everywhere!

Handwoven goods and crocheted caps,

Needlefelted sculptures and afghans for laps,

sweaters and scarves and mittens and socks

So much to do, there's no time for naps--

Each gift is handmade with love and precision,

Such abundance of love--no talk of recession!

Gifts created by hand are things to behold,

such beauty and grace, and colors so bold.

Each stitch and each shot of the handweaver's shuttle

every frog and tink and yarn-ball muddle

becomes a part of the cre-ative process,

never to be confused with a fiberwork mess!

Remember the handiwork is more than a thing

to be given, then forgotten once the bells stop their ring,

but will be used and admired for months and years far ahead.

So create with abandon, knit and weave without dread,

Your gifts will be loved, prob'ly much more than you'll know

So finish them smartly and tie them with bows!

Events and Activities and Holiday Hours

NO Knit Knite or Spin In this month--we're all busy knitting, spinning, crocheting and weaving our gifts!  But, if you need a quiet moment, some last-minute inspiration, or just want to come by and visit, you're welcome to sit and knit (or crochet or any fiber art) any time during our regular business hours.  We'd love to see you!

Join us for our Spin-In on the second Friday of January, the 13th, bring your wheel and fiber, and a snack to share, and we'll provide soft drinks.

And then, join us for our Knit Knite in January, Friday evening January 20th, for the usual fiber fun and of course buck-a-slice pizza for all!

Holiday hours--yes, it's that time!  We'll be open regular hours until Saturday December 24th when we'll close at 2pm. We'll be closed Sunday December 25th for the Christmas holiday.  Saturday December 31 we'll also close at 2pm and we'll be closed Sunday January 1.

Community Projects

Our current project is for Family Tree, headquartered in Wheat Ridge, and we are making additional afghans to give to each girl at their Lakewood transitional housing facility, Gemini House. If you'd like to join us, we meet each Thursday at the shop from 12-1pm (bring a lunch if you'd like!) to knit or crochet 7" x 9" rectangles and assemble them. It's a great group and there's no need to call ahead--just drop in and knit a spell. If you'd like to help out but can't make the scheduled meeting time, feel free to knit or crochet rectangles and drop them off at the shop any time.

R & R (Returns and Rewards)

We would just like to gently remind you that we do need your receipt for any item returned to the shop.  We all occasionally purchase something we'd like to return, and fiber friends are no exception!  We have a very generous return policy for yarn and notions.  You can read the entire policy HERE on our website.  We thank you in advance for remembering your receipts!

We all like to get rewards--and as you know we revamped our customer reward program several months ago.  We'd sure like to get those blue cards out of circulation, and if you have any of the old Frequent Purchaser Certificates we'd like you to use them as soon as possible.  So, we're placing a deadline!  To get your blue card points transferred to our new-fangled computer rewards system, please bring your card in BEFORE WE CLOSE ON  DECEMBER 31.  That's right the deadline is New Year's Eve!  Your old (yellow mostly) FPC gift certificates will also expire at the end of the year. So you have quite a few more weeks, but the sooner you get those points moved over the sooner you can take advantage of our new system!  You can read all the details HERE
